Message: Hi Guys, I have been listening to your songs for about 6 months now and feel obligated to post a comment. I travel to India every six months (live in US) and always look out for Indi Pop (so called for lack of a better word), hoping to strike gold, after having done doing so several years ago with Silk Route followed by Rabbi two years ago. Having grown up on staple diet of Classic Rock and heavy metal for the last 20 years and having outgrown it now, the only rock music that kinda moves me is one with hindi lyrics. To be honest, we do not have a stellar record in non-film music in India. There are only a handful of really good India rock musicians that are in a league of their own - Silk Route, Rabbi,for example. I also liked Lucky Ali's first two albums for the production value. Pakistas, with bands such as Raeth and Call and maybe Atif Aslam are impressive. But sorry for digressing. I am also convinced of the immense talent that we have in India and always on the lookout for the next hidden treasure. So on a flight from Bangalore to Delhi, I read about your group in the local newspaper and made a mental note of it. In Delhi I searched for your album and after a hard time found one at a store in Palika Bazaar. When I heard the first song, I must confess a very bland "Aankhon Main", I was really put off by the cheezy alaap. Was not impressed either by the Deep Purplish second song "Kya Yeh Pyaar". So it lay in my pile of unwanted CDs for very long. Then one day when I was about to discard the CD, I put it in my player hoping to find something redeeming. Boy I was pleasantly surprised. Dreams Everything from song 3 (dreams) onwards is just great. Dreams is a very timely ode to Martin Luther King's aspirations,given Obama's ascendence to the (still) most powerful position in the world. I think the next song "Gurur Brahma" has some good leads but the riff is not very catchy. "Nasha" has a great earthy feeling, similar to the likes of Indian Ocean but less heavy, and somewhat comparable to Euphoria when at their best (most of their songs are mediocre). Baatein Banana is a good straight ahead rock, similar to Asia (ex Yes, ELP, King Crimson band members) . The best 3 songs are at the end of the album - Dharti a better version of Dreams (because it is in Hindi :), Suno and Yaadein, partly due to the the preponderance of melody, but also because of significant interplay of Violin. In fact, Violin is what makes it a unique group. Many groups have tried to incorporate Violin in mainstream Rock and Fusion but only a handful (e.g., Jon Luc Ponty) have succeded. Thank you giving us a great album. Will look forward to your next album. Hope you will not change the formula too much. Ashok Sharma
