| A band that has grown over time, from humble beginnings; VINAPRA has gone through an evolutionary phase. The band began as a small dream in Natraj’s (Nutti’s) head. Teaming up with his long-time friend, Pradeep, the duo co-wrote a few songs. The good fortune of a common friend brought Prasad to the band – they now officially had a drummer. All that was required was the bassist and they were complete. Another common friend sealed the deal for them by introducing the band to Vivian ( Tery ), an accomplished bassist who later on switched roles with Pradeep to be the rhythm and lead guitarist for the band. And after a lot of shows and couple of years Manoj George, a friend and an accomplished musician who plays the violin, joined the band. |

| Hmmm.. all of the above sounds cool I am sure, but trust us it was the most difficult phase of the band, getting in to believe in the whole new concept of Hindi rock in the south, we are talking about 1998-99.. Took about 3 years putting things in place, getting our line up ready and starting to jam. Then it all started, finding a new jam place nearly every month. Had to nearly change about 7 different jam rooms before we found one of our own which we still hold on to. Need to thank one sweet lil girl, Aditi J in whose home the band jammed for the longest, that’s where our songs like Suno and a few unrecorded ones started shaping up. Well.. That was not for too long and we had to move on… |
